Thermal and Propulsion
Thermal and Propulsion (T&P) is one of the four groups in the Department of Aerospace Engineering with an academic and research focus on Aerospace Propulsion and Thermal-Fluid Engineering. This group is actively involved in the state of the art R & D related to supersonic combustion, thermoacoustic instability, swirl Combustion, multiphase flows, heat transfer enhancement, flow instability etc. using sophisticated experimental techniques and high fidelity numerical simulations. The T&P labs are equipped with state of the art optical and laser diagnostic tools to investigate the fluid flow, combustion, liquid atomization, two phase flow and heat transfer. The T&P Faculty actively engage in collaborative research with ISRO centers and other academic/research institutions across the country. The Department of Aerospace Engineering also has a vibrant Doctoral and MTech program in Thermal and Propulsion.
