Cryogenics Laboratory forms an important part of the thermal-science infrastructure at IIST, providing facilities for the generation, storage, handling, and experimental use of liquid nitrogen. The laboratory layout includes a dedicated cryogenics test facility area, a liquid-nitrogen storage area, and equipment supporting cryogenic operations. The facility is equipped with a liquid nitrogen (LN2) plant, a reciprocating compressor, a chiller associated with the LN2 plant, and multiple Dewar vessels with capacities of 50 litres and 250 litres. The arrangement provides a dedicated environment for cryogenic-fluid handling and storage while maintaining separation from the general heat-transfer experimental areas.
