Autonomous Systems Lab

Autonomous Systems Laboratory is a recent facility which aims to develop new cutting edge autonomous systems and prototyping them to demonstrate their use cases.

Mission:
Design and development of Autonomous Systems focused on novel algorithms for their Guidance, Navigation and Control along with prototyping such vehicles for practical use cases.

 Vision:
Building fully indigenous software and hardware stacks for use in Autonomous Systems in line with the spirit of Aatmanirbhar Bharat

1. Demonstration of Multi-platform fully indigenous autonomous systems with focus on solving core problems tailored to India

2. Tackling fundamental challenges in Autonomous Systems development with emphasis on Manufacturing scalability and Cost.

Works:

ASL Lab has participated in the prestigious IROCU-2026 organised by URSC, Bengaluru and had qualified for the pre final rounds.

ASL Lab is also participating in NIDAR 2026 competition where we are in the process of demonstrating GPS denied indoor navigation with drones for earthquake hit buildings.

Given the recent advances in kamikaze drone ASL Lab is also developing an indigenous interceptor drone to address such issues.

Facilities:
1. 3d printing facility to print custom frames or modify existing ones
2. Availablity of edge computing boards like Jetson Orin Nano and Raspberry Pi
