Statistical Physics & Nonlinear Dynamics
Research is done in the general area of Nonequilibrium Statistical Mechanics and Biological Physics. The study of nonequilibrium lattice models has shown that even simple dynamics can lead to interesting and important important results. We study the possible steady state phases and phase transitions in such systems. We also work on the application of these models to biological phenomenon.
Nonlinear Dynamics
Work is broadly done in two areas - geometry of solitons, and in applications of nonlinear dynamics to condensed matter systems, especially spin systems. Of particular interest is study of spin-current and field induced magnetization dynamics in spin-valve pillars.
