Dr. Sarita Vig was invited as Chief Guest at the National Space Day Celebrations held at IIT-Jammu. She presented a talk titled 'Finding our place among stars'. She spoke about where we are (Earth and our ) amongst the hundreds of billions of stars in our galaxy, in the Milky Way. She also elaborated on aspects that have led us to our current understanding of the Milky Way, using measurements of stars and nebulae along with an understanding of galaxy dynamics.
