Book Launch: ആഫ്റ്റർ ഇമേജ്: കലയറിവിന്റെ തത്വചിന്താപരിസരങ്ങൾ (Translated as: After Image: The Philosophical Ecologies of Knowing Art)
Research scholar Amalu Shaji, pursuing her PhD under the supervision of Dr. Gigy J. Alex in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), launched her book After Image on 13 June 2026 at the DC Books Bookstore, Convent Road, Ernakulam. Published by DC Books, the book brings together essays that critically engage with the philosophical dimensions of art, aesthetics and visual culture. The book examines a range of themes including aesthetics, memory, embodiment, technology, and the social life of images, offering interdisciplinary perspectives on contemporary artistic discourse.
The book was formally released by Dr. P. Pavithran, retired Professor, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit. The launch event was attended by scholars, writers, artists, and members of the public. Discussions during the programme highlighted the significance of philosophical engagement with art and the role of critical inquiry in shaping contemporary understandings of visual culture.
