Ms. Arushi Kumar, a second year Research Scholar in the Department of Earth and Space Sciences (ESS) at IIST, has been recognized with two prestigious awards for her research on "Dust scattering of X-ray photons from Gamma Ray Bursts," conducted under the supervision of Dr. Resmi L. Her poster received the Best Poster Award at the Young Astronomers Meeting II (YAM II), held at IIT BHU, Varanasi (December 5-7, 2025). Earlier, her work was also selected for the Second Best Poster Award at the Women in Astrophysics: Voices, Equity, and Science (WAVES) meeting held at ICTS-TIFR, Bengaluru (November 3-4, 2025).
