Dr. Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO, ANRF, Govt. of India visited IIST on 2nd May 2026. The guest, with Vice Chancellor, IIST jointly addressed the ISIT faculty. Vice Chancellor presented a briefed report on the IIST’s academic and research profile while highlighted the major achievements and contributions to the space research. Dr. Kalyanaraman appreciated the potential of IIST in particular and DoS in general to compliment and augment the national technology landscape. He also suggested several avenues for IIST faculty to come forward and seek support from ANRF. The CEO, ANRF strongly advocated for a joint ANRF, DoS platform with IIST as a nodal center to leverage national science and technology expertise for the technological advancement in the domain of space science and technology. Dr. Kalyanaraman also visited three laboratories, namely, SSPACE. EPDL and Quantum technology labs in IIST.
