The NEURO'26 - Neuromorphic VLSI Outreach Workshop (Event 04), hosted at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram, marks the fourth milestone hackathon and design journey across Kerala. Supported by the IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (CASS) Kerala Chapter and Semicon Keralam, this particular edition transitions participants into hands-on hardware acceleration using AMD Xilinx Vivado and PYNQ development boards. Attendees will move beyond academic theory to implement brain-inspired neural network overlays directly onto physical FPGA hardware, bridging software-friendly Python environments with high-performance silicon deployment. By embedding these cutting-edge heterogeneous computing workflows at IIST, the series continues its mission to train next-generation engineers for the future of edge-AI and space-capable neuromorphic hardware.
