IIST celebrated 80th Independence Day with due respect with Vice Chancellor, IIST hoisting the National Flag at 09.00 am on Saturday, 15th August 2026. National Song and National Song was recited by the students both at the beginning and end of the function. Vice Chancellor inspected the Guard of Honour presented by the CISF contingent at IIST. Prizes for the Hindi competition held in connection with Independence Day and elocution competition conducted as part of Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanthi was also distributed to students of IIST. This was followed by a demonstration of combat skills by CISF and prize distribution of various competitions held for children of CISF personnel. Cultural programs by students were organized in the evening.
