The Conference on Advances in Weather and Climate Modelling (AWCM–2026) was successfully conducted on 27 March 2026 at the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram. The event was organized in honour of Prof. A. Chandrasekar, recognizing his significant contributions to atmospheric modelling and data assimilation. The programme commenced at 9:30 AM with the inaugural session, followed by technical sessions held across the Admin Council Hall and the Aerospace Council Hall. The conference featured a total of 18 invited talks delivered by experts from leading institutions, covering key themes such as numerical weather prediction, climate modelling, and emerging applications. In addition, 6 poster presentations were showcased, providing a platform for students and early-career researchers to present their work.The sessions were structured into multiple thematic segments, with active participation from both in-person and online speakers, facilitating broader engagement and knowledge exchange. The conference concluded with a valedictory session, during which former students and collaborators of Prof. Chandrasekar shared their experiences and reflections, highlighting his contributions to research, teaching, and mentorship.
