Zugzwang, the Chess Club of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), brings together chess enthusiasts from across the institute to compete, learn, and enjoy the game. The club organizes a Chess League every semester, along with regular fun tournaments in both offline and online formats. Beyond campus, Zugzwang actively participates in FIDE-rated events, giving our players opportunities to compete at a higher level and gain experience against a wider pool of players. The club also hosts annual inter-college chess tournament during Zenith, which brings together players from more than six colleges for a competitive celebration of the game.

Activities
Zugzwang regularly participates in chess tournaments beyond IIST, including FIDE-rated events and competitions hosted by other colleges. These events provide our players with opportunities to gain competitive experience, test their skills, and represent IIST on a larger stage.
