The B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering (Avionics) at IIST, offered by the Department of Avionics, focuses on space electronics and systems. Established in 2007, it emphasizes reliable avionics for space technology. The curriculum covers core areas of ECE with emphasis on five streams: Control Systems, VLSI and MEMS, DSP/Communication/AI, Power Electronics, and RF and Microwave.

Hands-on training occurs through state-of-the-art labs and opportunity for ISRO internships, fostering practical skills.
