The Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education (HBCSE-TIFR), Mumbai has been organising the Indian Astronomy Olympiad Programme every year for the past 20 years. The Astronomy Olympiad strives to motivate pre-University students towards careers in pure sciences, especially Astronomy. As a part of the Astronomy Olympiad Programme, yearly winter camps have been introduced for the past Olympiad students. The camp is organised at different astronomical research institutes where the students work on projects to gain some insight into Astronomy research. In the past, the nurture camps have been held at Ooty Radio Telescope, Vainu Bappu Observatory, ARIES, National Balloon Facility - TIFR, HBCSE, National Centre for Radio Astrophysics (NCRA), IISER-Mohali and Moulana Azad National Urdu University.
IIST is hosting the 12th Astronomy Nurture Camp at the Valiamala campus, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala between 10 - 20 December, 2017. Undergraduate students who have attended the Astronomy Olympiad camps have been invited to attend the Nurture Camp.
