DHANAK is the Annual Cultural Festival of the Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology, Thiruvananthapuram. ‘Dhanak’ is another word for ‘rainbow’, aptly encapsulating the essence – the singularity in a multitude of colors, passion, and people; the variety of cultures, talents, and ideas, splendidly celebrated through their amalgamation in the form of music, dance, literature and visual arts.

In four extensively packed days, Dhanak aims to portray an extravagant blend of surprises, and much more than what meets the eye. What began as a jot of imagination on paper ten years ago, is now considered one of the best and the largest intercollegiate cultural fests in Southern India with nearly a footfall of 2000. In 2019, Dhanak enters its eleventh glorious edition. The most awaited moment at Dhanak is the pronite, in which a DJ/Band is invited to perform. Dhanak 2015 witnessed DJ VH1 Supersonic. Progressive Brothers from DJ Sunburn gave their performance in 2016 and Masala Coffee, South India's largest band performed in Dhanak 2017. Dhanak also features themes every year based on which the whole campus is decorated and events are organized, few of which-Popculture, Comic-colors, Pixelated are the most recent ones. Primarily headed by the current third year B-tech students with enormous contribution from all the other B-Tech, M-Tech and PhD students, the latest edition kicks off on 28th September’19 and extends till 1st October’19.
