Modified provisions on fees and performance-based financial assistance (by Department of Space-DoS) as per the approval of Meeting of Board of Governors of IIST held in May, 2018
(Applicable to candidates joining from2018 onwards)
The Table-1 below shows the fees to be paid in each semester by ALL categories of candidates

**Applicable only for the academic period of the semester and hence does not cover any expenses during the vacation period. The summer vacation is usually from mid-May to mid-July (two months) and the winter vacation is in December (one month). The actual dates shall be published in the annual academic calendar.
The first semester fee is through online payment at the time of acceptance of the allotted seat during the admission process. The fee for remaining semesters has to be paid at the beginning of each semester.
Financial assistance: Based on the category and academic performance of the candidate during a semester, the full/part of the semester fee paid by the candidate shall be refunded at the end of the semester, after the declaration of the semester examination results. This financial assistance, funded by Department of Space (DoS)Govt. of India, provided to the meritorious students is as follows:

Additional Book Grant:
All UG students who are awarded full DoSassistanceship in any semester are also eligible for a reimbursable Book Grant of Rs.3000/- for the semester. To avail the book grant, a prior approval, production of bill and verification of the book are essential.
Students will be given scholarship as per UGC/MHRD norms.
